Hand Painted Christmas Baubles - The Personal Touch
Christmas baubles are a beautiful, sentimental, and fun way to adorn your tree and home for the Christmas holiday season. Simplicity and tradition are a large part of the bauble’s appeal, and with so many stunning designs and styles, it’s no doubt that these elegant additions to Christmas décor will be in use for many, many years to come.
Baubles grew out of a long tradition of decorating Christmas trees with apples. Glass baubles were first produced in Germany during the mid-19th century, and since that time, neither their appearance nor their appeal has strayed far from the original. If anything, Christmas baubles have taken on even more meaning over time.
Contemporary Christmas tree baubles are, of course, much more durable than their original counterparts. Many are still made from a very thin, reflective glass, while others are actually constructed of plastic (but don’t look any different). Many of these solid plastic and glass baubles can be used to add colour and depth to a decorated tree.
Some of the best Christmas baubles, though, are not designed solely to add a layered background to a tree’s appearance. Now, individual baubles are given as gifts to express meaning and commemorate milestones. Many people will share the gift of a Christmas bauble when a child is born, or an anniversary is reached. Other Christmas tree baubles depict traditional seasonal images, and are shared for their sentimental and decorative meaning.
Hand-painted baubles add an even more of a personal touch. A hand-painted Christmas tree bauble is a wonderful Christmas gift, and can depict anything from a wintry snow scene to the Christmas nativity. “Baby’s First Christmas” baubles are incredibly popular as well. No matter what scene or style, Christmas tree baubles are an important holiday tradition. They help us decorate our homes, they make wonderful gifts, and they remind us of Christmases past.
