Anime Statues And How To Start Your Own Collection
The anime phenomenon originated in Japan and it is an animation style that is influenced by manga or Japanese comics. The characters have large eyes, long limbs, big hair, overly exaggerated facial expressions as well as other distinctive features. Anime is wildly popular all over the world and it is being used in TV shows, films, video games and commercials.
If you are a fan of anime and would like to start a collection of anime statues, you have a lot of choices. The first thing you should do is be sure that you have a place in the house to display your collection. There is little point in collecting if you cannot put your statues on display, so find a suitable location and if necessary, purchase a Display Case or two so that your newly acquired animes will have a place to be kept. The best way to begin a collection of this kind is to start with purchasing some of the older, most common figures, as they will be the least expensive to purchase. It is also wise, especially if you are on a budget, to begin by purchasing some of the smaller anime statues such as the Inuyasha figurines that are four Inches Tall. Each of these statues come on a blister card and include such popular characters as Inuyasha, Sesshomaru, Kagome, Sango and Miroku. This particular collection came out in 2005 and can generally be found online.
The "Love Hina" statues are also 4 inches tall and include the figurine of Urashima Keitara, the 20 Year Old with the not-so-Good Luck that gets into a heap of trouble with the five girls he hangs around with. Look for the female statues in this series such as: Mitsune and Kaolla Su. The reason for starting your collection with the smaller figurines is that they are inexpensive and easy to find. As time passes, you can work your way up to larger figurines. The best type of anime figurine collection is one that includes statues of All Sizes and from many of the most popular series.
After you have a respectable collection of the small statues, work your way up to the eight inch sized. The Mon-Sieur Bome' series was wildly popular and these figures were created by one of Japan's most famous sculptors - Bome'. His work speaks for itself. His She Devil character really is a must-have for any anime collection, so be sure to pick her up. Don't forget about Kasumi - the female ninja who was in the Mugen Tenshin Style of Ninjutsu. The sword wielding heroine Ignis is from the very popular Japanese video game: Jingai Makyo, so try to locate one of these as well.
